March 2009

All FC&MCC Members,

We had a wonderful turn out for our last meeting and signed up two new members. Pete also has a spot for our car show in August. It will be at Safford RV in Thornburg. We will post directions and a flyer on our Web site. We will have lots of space for cars and guests. Safford RV will also help to promote the show. They are a wonderful bunch of people and we are very proud to have them help out. They like to help with charities and they love the classic cars so that is a great combination. We look forward to a great relationship and a bigger and better show with lots of space.

Our cruise-in starts this Friday night (March 27) at VABBQ on Rt.1 and Fall Hill Avenue weather permitting. Right now the forecasters are calling for a possibility of rain but we will have to wait and see. The Saint Patty’s Day Parade was cancelled due to rain and that was a disappointment as we were ready to get those cars out and have a good time. There will be a show at Brooke Point High School this Saturday. There is information about it on our Web site. It has been a very long winter and just want to get back into the cruise-ins and shows.

Ron will be starting his cruise-in at Brusters on Saturday, April 4, 2009. That is always a good cruise-in and look forward to getting a bunch of our members to crash some of those this year. A little personal info; my sister passed away and had a lot of running back and forth trying to get her things done. Pop has had a couple of bad days we are hoping he will be able to attend some of the cruise-ins and shows; he has three more sessions of chemo. He has been doing well except a few days right after chemo. This is a blessing. He is looking forward to attending as many as he is able. The big news is we now have a 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury; it is red with black interior and is now getting all the things done that will make it great. (I hope!) Wes is doing all the work and trying to help but with me wanting everything done yesterday he is a man with a big heart.

We will be discussing how many trophies and all other things about our show at the next meeting so if you can please attend. I will send out e-mails concerning activities for our club. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 14, at the College Heights Pizza Hut at 7pm.

Regards,
Sue
